The Day We Fully Become Electrically Wireless!

Technology has always been an evolving entity, with diverse dynamic at play. The technology which is playing a pivotal role in the current socio-economic ecosystem was a dream beyond recognition few years back. Same can be said about any other technology which might seem like a distant dream but can pave way for future engagement is the near future, faster than you expect.

A common technological advancement that has surely changed the lives of end users has been removal of wires from our lives and induction of wireless interaction between devices. Wireless chargers for smartphones have been around for a while and basically use a form of induction charging that gives an idea of how the future of electricity will be shaped. How it works:

Now that the idea is clear, the biggest question that arises is how does it work. It is basically based on wireless resonance technology and involves magnetic field rather than electric field. This takes away the fear of getting electrocuted while walking down the hall. The basic idea is to put a magnetic field around like in the case of wifi routers, to send and receive electric signals.

There is basically a coil of electrical wire as seen in the case of refrigerator that creates a magnetic flux when the power is connected. now when two power coils are brought near to each other, there is transmission of electric current between the two ends. Any devices in between those two coils will have electric charge transferred through it, meaning it would get charged wirelessly. This type of technology will open a pandora’s box and numerous applications which can revolutionise daily lives of many people.


Wire-free home:

There is no denying the fact that with the emergence of IOT, more and more devices are going wire-free and are becoming smarter. But there was always that last yard that was totally dependent on wires as far as electricity was concerned. Once this technology becomes mainstream, there would be an emergence of wireless homes with no need for wire for data or electric transmission. From smartphones to smart Tvs to other home appliances, everything would get charged simultaneously while sharing information with each other.

Even while driving your electric car, you wont have to worry about gas or plugging it in at night as it would automatically get charged once in the driveway of your wireless home.

Wireless applications:

More than a wireless home, this technology will have a huge impact on various markets like medicine, retail, and other consumer sectors. In cases of organ transplantation, doctors would be able to charge artificial organs without the need for round the clock electricity supply via wires. The biggest effect would be on the way we perceive thing. By going fully wireless, there we would be able to think about design from a different perspective and it would bring a range of new idea to the table that we haven’t even thought. It would surely make everything around us different and make many things practical, adding new functionality to it.

How it will evolve?

Although there are many fruits that can come out of this technology, there are a few hurdles down the way. The biggest challenge would be the distance between the coils so that the power can travel further. although there won’t be any issues related to small distance charging, the real workability comes with long distance transfers. By bringing this technology to the forefront, users would be able to eliminate the hassle of connecting wires again and again to charge anything. We are moving towards a wire-free ecosystem and this small step would definitely prove to be a huge advancement in the way we perceive technology.
